FINDING BEST WEDDINGS PHOTOGRAPHERS IN ROCHESTER NY | ANTHONY PALADINOS PHOTOGRAPHY

    WHO AM I ?

I am someone who after trying many things in life settled on doing photography for a living.  In high school I had a passion for art and took up many drawing classes even tried sketching classes only to discover I had no talent. I also tried a few pottery classes; even though I enjoyed it, I had limited skills there as well. Eventually I gave up and graduated from school and worked in factories, highway work, even cleaned sewers; yeah that was a crappy job, for real. Few years down the road frustrated and going nowhere in life; I decided I would try college. The goal was to learn computers, six months in and I was not doing good and looking at another failure. Upon talking with the consolers and taking some test they suggested I take up something along photography. This was my ticket as I fell in love with it right from the start and I was actually good at photography. I also learned that all those art classes I once loved I could now do with the camera, as photography is a form of art. This was my begging and stepping forward many years I still love photography every bit as much, if not more so. Was it easy; not even close, many trials, failures , much learning, yet photography for me is not a job; it is a life style it is who I am. This is what drives me to excel and drive for excellence. In addition, photography is ever changing and therefore forces me to keep learning. I started in film days and today as you can imagine with the digital age; it is far different then film. Through it all I have my kept sense of humor and remain positive minded.

   WHAT TO EXPECT:

As a wedding photographer my goal is to serve you and meet your photographic needs. Each wedding is different as each person is different and have different needs. So, what to look for when wanting to find best wedding photographer ? Look for someone who can envision your wedding in a compelling pay, that is different then walking around like a news journalist. After I meet you and after a long talk I envision what your wedding could look like based upon what you want, the location, the time of day, the location as indoor or outdoor, and the number of people and the age groups. All of the above are important elements in making the wedding something special. This is where I take all elements into account and tell you what it is that I can do for you. My job is to make each wedding goer look their very best. Some of what I do is staged and some is spontaneous ; but together they make for a happy mix; much like baking a cake. After the wedding all the images need to be edited as I shoot in RAW format which is similar to film and requires special editing. Once edited I convert the images to jpeg for optimum viewing on the computer. You will receive the images in two ways; on thumb drive and dropbox. The dropbox images are for your viewing to decide which images you want printed. About tens days after the wedding I contact you for a meeting time to discuss what images you want printed. All prints are done by me; I have several sizes and high quality photo papers to choose from. Once printed I personally deliver the prints to you; total turn around time is about five days. Last as your photographer I like to remain in contact with you for future engagements, I am not one to up and dump you after payment is made. So this is who I am and what makes me tick. I hope this helps you in finding best wedding photographer in Rochester NY.  I love to hear from you, my readers. Please post your comments or any questions you have. You can personally contact me here or by email; love would to hear from you.

Fun Places Rochester NY to photograph | Anthony Paladino's Photography

Anthony Paladino's website
One of the many joys of event photography is going to fun and exciting places filled with interesting people. Here in Rochester NY we have a Green Space known as the conservatory. Here on a cold winter snow covered day you can come and be in a tropical environment; complete with chirping birds ,a babbling brook and plenty of green foliage. A place where you can relax, read, drink you favorite latte and above all else socialize and have fun with all people and your friends.   It's also well know for photographers to come and photograph weddings, senior graduations. Today is a good day, a day filled with vibrant young friends from the city that came dressed in rather interesting manner. A reindeer, a devil, and other interesting to ordinary outfits. They were all wonderful, and, all had much fun with each other as I went about with them photographing them having fun doing spontaneous poses, or should I say just having fun .Yes I do love my job and photographing events, Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed this blog.

SEEING AS THE CAMERA SEES | Photography by Anthony Paladino

  • Let's first look at why we do photography. All to often we go about photographing looking for those great iconic shots , ever notice those roadside overlooks or climb to a mountain summit only finding that you have to jockey for position at sunset. So what happens after you take your photographs that you can't wait to upload and share; well, ever stop to think everyone there got the same shoot, and this goes on every night. Lets stop and look at the basic fundamentals so you'll shoot apart from the crowd. The camera is only looking for light and shadows, and how it converts to pixels. You as a photographer is to work with the camera to find interesting photos, not just some subject. The world is full of subjects, but you need to find interesting images to show your viewers. Getting back to the camera weather it be a DSLR or an old film camera it doesn't matter. The camera is just a light tight box with an opening at one end for light to enter (Lens) and a photosensitive material (film) or digital sensor at the other end.Now a-days all cameras, even the point and shoot all have a { reflective light meter }. The light meters job is one and only and that is to expose everything at 18% gray { zone V }. Your job is to figure out where and what to meter off from ( that's another teaching),for now let's be concerned with the basics. The camera has one eye (the lens ) you have two lenses ( your eyes) and they are about equal to a 50mm prime lens. You see from dark to light with 15 exposure values (EV's) the camera at best only sees 7 EV's . The light meter I mentioned earlier is based upon 5 Ev's with zone V in the middle (18%) gray, and 2 1/2 EV's to the left is unde exposed.2 1/2 EV's to the right is over exposed. Therefore , the camera can never photograph what you see. Lets go deeper;you see in three dimensions - camera two dimensions. Getting back to your eyes that are at 50mm perspective, who shots these days with a 50mm lens only. Last, you see in color , and as mentioned the camera only sees in tonal values of 18% gray.Once you realize the camera can't replicate what you see you'll to step aside from the crowd and you'll want to Learn to shoot creatively. This is the art of photography , and , of equal importance;much like a painter that begins with a blank canvas and decides what to include;you start with with a full canvas and need to decide what to eliminate. Face it the landscape around you is full of chaos , and if you photograph a chaotic landscape you now have a chaotic image. I hope this helps and please add you input or ask questions.
